NEW to Washington Learning Source - Magma Math!

Magma Math, the digital math platform that allows students to show their work the same way they would with pencil and paper, is now an approved vendor of the Washington Learning Source (WLS) program. This means that K12 educational leaders can now implement Magma Math with the knowledge that it has gone through the established purchasing agreement vetting process by WLS.

Magma Math has its roots in the Nordics, where it has revolutionized math education over the past five years and is now in the midst of a global expansion where it has seen great traction and customer feedback in the US, especially from Common Core states such as California.

"At Magma Math we strive to unlock the superpowers of math educators by providing them with student solutions at their fingertips, facilitating mathematical discourse, and enabling differentiated support based on real-time qualitative and quantitative data,"

says Henrik Appert, CEO of Magma Math.

"We are on a mission to advance equity in math by empowering ALL students to see themselves as doers of mathematics and we are thrilled to give Washington educators the opportunity to be part of that journey."

Magma Math provides educators with student solutions and qualitative and quantitative insights in real time and is compatible with all operating systems and devices.

Magma Math enables educators to apply best practice, research-based mathematical instruction, and with automatic grading, teachers can refocus their time to facilitate deeper math learning, promote mathematics as a living practice, and center students' voices in every lesson.

Creating assignments is simple and intuitive. Educators can design lessons, formative assessments, and activities from a library of over 40,000 standards-aligned problems for K-12 math, as well as create their own problems.

As Magma Math enables educators to distribute assignments, follow students’ work and learning progress, and support students in real-time regardless of students being in the classroom or working remotely it is also perfectly designed for remote learning and homework.

Magma Math enables educators to promote mathematics as a living practice centered around students' voices.

With Magma Math, students get to work through rich problem-solving tasks with multiple entry points, deepening their conceptual understanding. By promoting reasoning, discourse, and making room for everyone to engage and build math confidence, Magma Math also makes math fun and alive, revolutionizing the mathematical journey of each and every student.

"We have spent the past five years developing Magma Math into a digital math tool as we think it should be. It provides all the advantages of digitization while maintaining the creativity and freedom of using paper and pencil. This unique combination enables educators to create dynamic, student-centered classrooms where all students are challenged and supported appropriately,"

            Henrik Appert adds.

With Magma Math students are continuously challenged on their level contributing to a productive struggle where the solution is just as important as the answer.
